Indeed, considering that the root system must have access to all the nutrients necessary to promote the growth of the plant optimally, it is essential to use fertilization to give it maximum chance. A good dosage of nitrogen, phosphorus and potash will cause an increased efficiency of exchange of nutrients which will take an upward direction through the xylem vessels and the nutrients resulting from photosynthesis will descend through the phloem vessels which are found in the sapwood. This will be made possible by adding fertilizers.
It is important to note that to achieve maximum effectiveness, fertilizers must be applied once in the spring and again in the fall. Some fertilizers are more profitable than others as well. Applying compost by soil amendment around the trunk of the plant is the best method. It is also possible to apply a granular fertilizer which can help but will not maximize effectiveness.
